The wizard
The five steps of „Neuer Batch“ — and what blocks at each one.
The wizard is one page with five steps. There is „Zurück“ (Back) and „Weiter“ (Next); the step bar above shows where you are — you cannot jump within it. Going back loses nothing.
Your progress is saved in the tab, separately per workspace, and restored after a reload. The draft only disappears once it has become a batch — not when you leave the page.
The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels and messages are quoted in German throughout, with the English rendering in italics.
Step 1 — „Assets“
The grid shows images only.
„Weiter“ is disabled while nothing is selected. The selection bar above the grid shows the state: „Keine Assets ausgewählt“ (No assets selected).
Individual tiles are locked and carry the reason: „Aufbewahrungsfrist abgelaufen“ (retention period expired), „noch nicht verifiziert“ (not verified yet), „Nur PNG/JPEG können in Batches verarbeitet werden“ (only PNG/JPEG can be processed in batches). An asset already selected and since gone unsuitable can still be deselected.
„Alle N auf dieser Seite auswählen“ fills up to your role's limit at most and says when it had to stop. Once it is reached, the button reads „Auswahl ist voll“ (Selection is full).
The selection survives filter changes, folder changes and paging. The filter bar exists on this step only.
Step 2 — „Formate“
„Weiter“ is disabled when no format is chosen or the cell count exceeds your role's limit. The counter below the tiles says it: „N × M = K von 100 Zellen“, and on excess „Reduziere Assets oder Formate — Rollenlimit: 100 Zellen.“ (Reduce assets or formats — role limit: 100 cells.)
„Freiform“ is not here. Offered instead is „Original · nur Label“: native resolution per asset.
If the format catalogue is empty it reads „Keine Formate im Katalog.“ (No formats in the catalogue.)
Step 3 — „Zuschnitt & Label“
Two blocks on this step write an explanatory sentence.
The marking obligation requires a label, but there is no label family:

„Original · nur Label“ is chosen while the label is off:
„Original · nur Label“ erzeugt ohne aktives Label keine Ausgabe — Label einschalten oder das Format abwählen.
„Original · label only“ produces no output without an active label — switch the label on or deselect the format.
The crop
Two strategies: „Auto · Mitte“ (the default) and „Auto · Motiv“. „Auto · Motiv“ picks the crop by edges and contrast; it does not recognise faces or objects.
The hint below says where a hand-drawn frame is possible: „Ein Batch schneidet automatisch zu. Einen Rahmen von Hand ziehen Sie pro Ausgabe im Kontaktbogen.“ (A batch crops automatically. Draw a frame by hand per output in the contact sheet.)
The label
Where your workspace's marking obligation applies, the switch is not visible and the label is fixed on.
Step 4 — „Durchsehen“
This step blocks nothing. The cell analysis is recommended, not required — you may go on unmeasured, and the start button then says how many cells start unmeasured.
While no measurement exists, „Zellen analysieren“ (Analyse cells) is the prominent button; after the first measurement „Weiter“ steps forward.

Step 5 — „Starten“
On the last step there is no „Weiter“ any more. The way forward is „Batch starten“ (Start batch).
The summary repeats every setting in words: assets, formats, cells, crop, label — plus the names of the chosen formats.
The name is proposed from your selection and follows it until you type yourself — after that, never again. An emptied field does not produce a nameless batch but the automatic name again. At most 80 characters.
While a measurement is running, the batch cannot be started.
What the start button says

If cells were changed since the measurement, a line beside the button says how many of them start unmeasured. That does not block.
When the start fails
Errors jump to the step that can fix them. An asset that is gone or unsuitable leads back to step 1, a format problem to step 2. Authentication and network errors stay on the start step.
„Auswahl zurücksetzen“ (Reset selection) appears only for errors that this resolves. It clears the assets and jumps to step 1; formats, crop and label stay.
Where your workspace's allowance is used up, a card with the figures and the way forward appears instead of a sentence.
When it succeeds
The draft disappears, a brief notice names the number of outputs, and you land on the batch's detail page.
