Trash

Whatever is deleted in the library lands in the trash. The original file stays where it is, and restoring brings the asset back in full, into exactly the folder it sat in.

Every member may delete and restore; no particular role is needed.

The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels and messages are quoted in German below, with the English rendering in italics.

30 days

Every card in the trash carries its state: gelöscht 28.08.2026 · noch 30 Tage (deleted 28.08.2026 · 30 days left). Once the window has passed it reads „wird entfernt“ (being removed) until the asset is gone.

The 30 days cannot be changed — neither in the workspace nor through a plan.

The two periods are different things

Two periods remove something once a span of time has passed, and they are unrelated.

The trash holds what you deleted: for 30 days that can be taken back.

The retention period is a workspace setting. When it expires it removes the original file of an asset nobody ever deleted. The entry itself stays — with its verification result and its evidence, only without the picture. The tile then carries the sentence „Nach Ablauf der Aufbewahrungsfrist gelöscht“ (Deleted at the end of the retention period) in place of the preview, and can no longer be opened.

The two apply independently. Retention switched off protects nothing from the trash, and the trash holds up nothing that retention removes.

The trash keeps occupying storage

A workspace’s used storage counts every file still lying there — regardless of whether its asset is in the trash. Every „delete“ the library offers puts the asset into the trash; it does not touch the file.

So anyone clearing up on a full workspace while watching the bar sees nothing happen. The refusal says so itself:

Es muss Speicherplatz dazugebucht oder vorhandener Bestand endgültig gelöscht werden — Warten hilft hier nicht. Der Papierkorb belegt weiterhin Speicherplatz; frei wird er erst durch „Endgültig löschen“.

Storage has to be added, or existing holdings deleted for good — waiting does not help here. The trash still occupies storage; it is only freed by „Endgültig löschen“ (Delete permanently).

Only deleting for good frees storage. No waiting, no moving, no emptying of a folder view.

What the trash can and cannot do

It has no search and no filters. The view shows what is there, in the same order as the library — newest first — and loads more on „Mehr laden“ (Load more).

Each card offers two actions: „Wiederherstellen“ (Restore) and „Endgültig löschen“ (Delete permanently). The second takes two clicks.

For several assets at once the limit is 100 per operation — otherwise „Maximal 100 Assets pro Aktion.“ (At most 100 assets per action.) appears.

Emptying the whole trash

Beside the heading sits „Papierkorb leeren“ (Empty trash), as soon as there is anything in it at all. The dialog names what disappears: original files, every output produced from them and their signatures. Restoring is no longer possible afterwards.

At most 500 assets are removed per click, oldest first. On a larger trash that means: click again.
