Glossary

The six entry words are covered at greater length under The six words — here in the same meaning.

The signed-in product speaks German, so each entry is headed by the German term as it appears on screen, with the English rendering beside it.

„AI-Label“ · visible AI label

The visible mark in the picture. Not „Label“ on its own — that also names the artwork template and the settings page — and not „Kennzeichnung“ on its own.

Seen in the editor as the heading of the second editing step, in the batch wizard as part of „Zuschnitt & Label“.

„Anker“ · anchor

Three different things:

1. The anchor position — one of nine cells in a 3×3 grid where the label sits.
2. The anchor text — the largest mandatory text, whose legibility determines the label size.
3. The anchor value — the single number calibration produces: the anchor text's cap height divided by the artwork's height.

Asset

The entry in the library — the uploaded file with its verification result, its location and every output produced from it.

To be distinguished from a file: what you upload or download is a file. One asset can have several.

„Bibliothek“ · library

The workspace's holdings. In the sidebar the menu entry reads „Library“.

C2PA

The standard behind Content Credentials. It appears in sentences about the standard and in the trust list — it is not a name for something you operate. The audit surfaces in the product are called „Content-Credentials-Audit“.

Content Credentials

Content Credentials sind die maschinenlesbaren Herkunftsangaben in der Datei — nach dem offenen C2PA-Standard signiert.

Content Credentials are the machine-readable provenance details inside the file — signed to the open C2PA standard.

An English proper noun. It stays untranslated and is not inflected in German.

„Derivat“ · derivative

A signed output produced from an asset in a target format, optionally with a visible label.

„Hinweis“ · notice

The umbrella term for anything the product tells you about a finding. Six levels, each with a consequence of its own rather than a rank:

„Warnung“ concerns the file, „Manuelle Prüfung“ concerns the check. Each level carries a shape of its own, not only a colour.

In a batch's cell analysis, „Hinweis“ is the name of a single level.

„Kalibrierung“ · calibration

Answers one question: which text has to stay legible? And produces one number, the anchor value.

A variant carries exactly one of two tags: „Kalibriert“ (calibrated) or „Unkalibriert“ (uncalibrated). „Unkalibriert“ may stay that way for good — the label is still burnt in, simply not computed.

„Kennzeichnungspflicht“ · marking obligation

A workspace's rule that outputs must carry a visible label. Not to be confused with the defaults, although both live on the same page.

„Label-Familie“ und „Variante“ · label family and variant

A family is the mark — the wordmark, an EU marking, or one of your own. A variant is one rendition of it for a background.

A family with no variant does not appear in the editor.

Manifest

The record of Content Credentials inside a file. Downloadable as JSON.

„Prüfprotokoll“ · audit trail

The record of what happened in the workspace. The seal „Ohne Nachweis“ means something else, namely: no manifest inside the file.

„Siegel“ und Badge · seal and badge

Two wordings for the same state, in different places:

„Trust-Liste“ · trust list

The list of issuers whose signatures count as trusted. It ships with the product and comes from the public C2PA set.

„Zelle“ · cell

In a batch: one planned output — the combination of one asset and one format.

„Zeitstempel“ · timestamp

Attests when signing happened, keeping a signature valid where its certificate expires later.
